Red Rocks
Some of the best dive sites in Antigua are just a short boat ride away from DiveCarib. Here you will find a list of some of our 'house' favourites and an idea of what the dive entails. We hope this list is useful to all prospective divers, and we highly recommend that you sign up for a dive trip to get the most out of the dive site if it is your first time diving it.
Black's Point
A very popular site with our divers mainly due to the abundance of fish and nice, sheltered and calm surface conditions. The site runs along the cliff with large boulders with coral growth and many ledges for fish and lobster to hide under. It has a nice, safe and fun swim through. Popular choice for our DSD dives and night divers as well as a second dive on two-tank dive trips.
Our favourite site. Always good visibility with hardly any current in all weather conditions, even if rough on the surface. A very rich growth of coral, sponges and whips on a gentle slope from 40-80ft before levelling off on a sandy floor. Many little gulleys with lots of fish, often nurse sharks, lobster and lion fish under rocky ledges. Stingrays and eel gardens in the sandy floor and resident school of Atlantic Spade fish. Regular sightings of remora and turtles.

One of the best known sites in Antigua and visited by all divers on the south side of the island. Popular due to the very calm location, abundance of sea life and stunning cliffs on the surface. Many big boulders covered in growth, an old anchor and interesting under-water topography. Might often encounter other divers sharing the site.

Pillars of Hercules
Another really nice site with excellent underwater conditions even in choppy seas. Sharp drop from 40-80ft with lots of holes and ledges. Huge barrel sponges abound especially on the small islands of coral out in the sand. The coral is in excellent condition as it is very seldom visited by any other dive operations on the island. A massive turtle has been spotted on many occasions. Regular stingrays, lobster and octopus are all present.

Rendevoux Bay
A nice, intact wreck sitting up-right on the sea floor, with easy penetration possible. Ideal for deep diver training, or experienced divers with deep dive experience. We will only take divers to this depth with the correct qualifications and once they have dived with us before.
Depth - 100-140ft

Montserrat Wreck
Probably the best snorkeling location Antigua has to offer, and although close to shore, it is only accessible by boat. Suitable as a shallow dive for certified divers, DSD courses and especially snorkelers. Ideal for groups of divers who want to dive and bring snorkeling friends with. Very sheltered surface conditions in all but stormy weather. The coral comes up to a few feet from the surface.

Windward Reef
One of Antigua's better known and popular deeper dives. It is a rock that almost breaks the surface. One side is a shallow rocky area with a lot of coral and fish. The outer side drops down and is a sheer wall to 100ft, with barrel sponges and deeper ocean coral running along a spectacular overhang. This ends in a steep sided gulley that brings you back to the shallows. It can be a very rough trip to the site and can be very surgy in the shallows in rough weather. Visibility can vary a lot according to the weather. In the right conditions however, definitily one of Antigua's best dive sites. Did I mention the resident Black Tip Reef Sharks?

Sunken Rock
A small dive site, covering about the area of a football field, but extremely highly populated with many fish species. Lobster, turtles, nurse sharks, and fish fish fish! It is a flat area partially surrounded by a ledge from 40-60ft, full of holes, cracks and ledges. Unfortunately it s off a headland that is more often rough than calm, so not often diveable, but when it is, its great.

Barraccuda Reef
Never actually seen a stingray here. But a nice option as a dive combined with Pillars. A small site with nice reef and varying depths in a V shaped valley wit the mooring at the point of the V. an be a bit rolly on the surface in rough conditions. A bit on the over dived side by other operators

Stingray Alley
One of the richest sites for coral and marine life in Antigua. Truly an amazing site to dive when you can. There is no mooring and the anchorage is very tricky, with the boat sitting very close to the cliff. Strictly flat sea only. There is an underwater peninsular, 40ft on the shore side, 60ft on the deeper side and 15t on the top. It then drops off again to 80+ft. Really well preserved coral as it is so seldom dived.
Depth - 40-80ft
Conditions - Only suitable in calm weather

Carpenter's Rock
A very nice dive with big boulders, interesting ledges and sharp depth changes. Resident Black tips in the area. Sitting at the base of Shirley Heights Cliffs in a sheltered bay, but is often exposed to the swell, making it a calm weather only site.
Depth - 40-60ft

Stoney Cove
A very shallow wreck of a sailboat sitting inside English Harbour. Although very broken up, it is teeming with fish. An ideal spot for DSD lessons, snorkeling or a second shallow dive covering the area from the wreck to Pillars of Hercules. You can start the dive on the wreck, cover some turtle grass, pass the biggest anchor you've ever seen and end on a nice coral reef.t It can also be done in reverse. A bit of everything in a nice long shallow dive.

Sea Terror Wreck
A nice easy dive close to the harbour mouth. Similar topography to Red Rocks, but dived a lot more by other dive operators. Diveable in rougher conditions than Red Rocks, but visibility may not be as good.
Close to Carpenters Rock, but in the lee of the cliffs. Massive boulders close to shore in depths around 40 ft, dropping off to around 80 feet. Divers with good air consumption can reach Carpenters rock from here, but for most, the best part of the dive will be your turn around point.
Depth - 40-80ft
Conditions - Only suitable in calm weather

Best done in calm weather by experienced divers as a drift dive. The cliffs below Shirley Heights continues underwater ending in a lot of big boulders. Depths of 100ft can be reached within 50 ft of the shore. There is also a nice shallow, but wide cave often fill with tarpon. All divers need to be advanced with good air consumption for this dive. This is an area we will be exploring shortly at depths of 140ft and beyond as part of our expansion into Technical Diving.

Carib House
Another dive site we really like due to its uniqueness compared to everything else. It is a huge atch of flat turtle grass at 60ft, surrounded by a small ledge of ledges and coral. Tons of lobster and a conch breeding ground are present. Stingrays, nurse sharks and turtles are often seen here. Not always suitable as the current can pick up, and visibility is unpredictable.
